| So E3 has come and past, and it seems that everyone is pissed at Sony. Because Sony stole the wireless controller feature from Nintendo. Well, bottom line is, I don't care who stole what...I'm more worried about what games will be coming out on each platform. So far, four new games interest me: Rainbow Six: Las Vegas, Mobile Suit Gundam PS3, MGS4, and Red Steel. First off, I am utterly stunned by Red Steel. It is a Revolution game, and an FPS. Your shooting is done via the wand, where you point and click. Using the directional control(it seems) and waving the wand, it allows you to dive around corners to avoid gunfire. With handguns, you can twist the wand and you'll hld your gun "gangster" style. I doubt that the particular feature will have any real shooting impact, but it is amazing to see the level of interaction. Finally, Red Steel, being a Japanese gangster movie, allows you to go sword to sword against Japanese Yakuza. Brandishing and swinging the sword is done via the wand, like shooting. Innovative take on an FPS, I am DEFINATELY getting a Revolution for this title. Mobile Suit Gundam PS3 may finally be a Gundam game that isn't Ghiren's Greed that doesn't suck. The trailer seemed to be a mix of game play and FMV. As it stands, the game looks like a third person arcade style shooter. Hopefully you have the option of playing both Federation and Zeonic mobile suits. Metal Gear Solid 4 looks great. It seems like it will use the same wireless interactive control that the Revolution uses in Red Steel. Other than that, I guess its more of the same MGS, but what hooks me is the visuals and premise of the game. Rainbow Six: Las Vegas. This game is a continuation of the Rainbow Six franchise, and it is also new in the fact that it is done in third person now. Visually, its stunning; The trailer shows your team rapelling down the wall of this casino building, then crashing through the windows and shooting up the place. Being in third person, this will give you the player better situational awareness, so you don't randomly die because you couldn't see with your tunnel vision. I'll be broke for awhile. I gotta get all three Next-Gen systems now... | ||||||||
